Bitter Sweet Landscapes

Forever Fields -an art archive in protest of the Botley West Solar project.

It was a genuine privilege to be involved in this art exhibition that seeks to preserve an archive of the fields and views at risk of being lost under 3.4 K acres of solar panels. My contribution ‘Wharf Stream Meadow’ sought to explore the rich biodiversity and delicate balance of nature in just one of many habitats at risk if this solar project goes ahead. The fact it is ‘green’ energy does not make up for the MASSIVE impact the project will have on the ecosystem -the long term impact on biodiversity is not sufficiently researched or known to make take a risk on this scale. It is too big and puts profit over local people and wildlife.
